About Hotel++

An 8.6 tells you a hotel pleased most people. It doesn’t tell you whether the walls are thin, whether the air conditioning copes in August, or whether the pool is quiet at 8am — and those are usually the things that decide whether a stay is a good one for you.

The answers are out there, scattered across a hotel’s listing and hundreds of guest reviews. Hotel++ does that reading for you, against your list rather than the average, so the same hotel can be an easy yes for one traveller and clearly wrong for another.

• Show how we know. Every finding says where it came from — the hotel’s own listing, a measured distance, or what its guests wrote — so you can check it.
• Say what a hotel misses. A hotel that falls short on something you asked for is shown falling short, not quietly ranked lower.
• Don’t guess. When we can’t find out, the card says so. A requirement marked as met when it isn’t is the one mistake that costs you a stay, so we would rather leave it unconfirmed.
• Plain language, no scores. You get what a hotel meets and misses, in words, not a number to decode.
